As a Stars fan, how do you think the organization ranks the following players (after Johnston & Bourque)...Stankoven, Stranges, Dellandrea & Peterson?

Stankoven, Peterson, Dellandrea, Stranges. But honestly, after Stankoven, those guys are all pretty close together. Peterson and Dellandrea are ready to make the jump (Peterson did last year but his minutes were limited under Bowness). Johnston, Bourque and Stankoven may need more time but I think one of them makes the jump this year. Stranges definitely needs a bit more time, but he should be a good middle 6 player.

For Lundvist, I'd probably part with Dellandrea. But, I like him as a replacement for Faksa should we move him. Glendening would be serviceable in that role for a year if needed.

Thanks for the detailed reply. As a Ranger fan I would want to target Peterson or Stankoven first, followed by Dellandrea.

Peterson could be had. Stankoven is likely not an option.

Bowness was absolutely dreadful coach in terms of giving opportunities for rookies. For instance, Faksa clocked the 6th highest ice time amongst our forwards after the first line and Seguin and Benn. And statistically speaking he was EASILY the worst forward in the entire team.

You could argue all of them, as well as Johnston, are to an extent NHL ready. Stranges maybe needs a year in AHL, but his skating is already easily NHL level.

DAL's center prospect pool looks great though. Nill and the scouts have done great job in that regard.

Likely takes a good amount more to move faksa. If you look at the cap dump trades Arizona has made, they’re not cutting anyone a break, especially in divison

"Bowness was absolutely dreadful coach in terms of giving opportunities for rookies."

Sounds depressing for us Jets fans, I'm still waiting for the Comeau signing, Chevy should be getting back from the lake any day now... 😂

Enjoy seeing Adam Lowry play. Because he's going to be doing that a lot.

Going to be a long dull season for Jets fans.

Kyle Connor better learn how to play defense otherwise he's going to get the Denis Gurianov treatment. He'll get buried in the bottom-6 with guys polar opposite to his skillset and then Bowness will rail on him for not contributing in all aspects of the game.

I worry he'll do that with Ehlers too even though Ehlers is pretty decent defensively, seems to me they just hired another Maurice.

Rangers are gonna want a more sure fire nhler. Stranges just isn’t that.

NYR will probably want Johnston or Borque, even if it means giving up a 2nd or 3rd with Lundkvist.

Before you say hell no, Pronmans rankings had Johnson at 62, Borque at 73, and Lundkvist at 91. List is from August 29th, so it’s not old. Keep in mind, the list goes to 170 and Stranges wasn’t listed. So 170+ to 91 is a 2nd, I think 91 to 73 or 62 is also a 2nd.

Being actually good defensively doesn’t mean anything to Bowness. He likes em big and grindy. You could literally show him Ehlers advance statistics and possession numbers and explain to him in detail about how he has strong defensive numbers and Peg has the puck more when Ehlers is on the ice etc and Bones would just stare at you and say “yeah but does he block shots??”

Guri had superior defensive stats to all of those boat anchors Bones spoon fed minutes to, but he was caught out of position a few times tsk tsk

Guy is a horrible hc (solid defensive assistant tbh). You seem like good people and I’m sorry you’re gonna have to watch your team play his crap “system”
