Description
I'm trying to see what everyone thinks about whether this is a feasible framework for a 3-way trade with NJ (who get Tarasenko and give Severson to VAN). And if it is, what finishing touches are needed? Who should add what to whom, and so forth?

Why? Coz suddenly I've been thinking Garland is the perfect guy to give ROR to C now that his best bud Frenchy is gone.

Any other questions, please direct them to our head of PR Maureen.

Do you think Tarasenko will be moved before the season?

From Vancouvers perspective, we would want to know what it would take to extend Severson and probably wouldn't add Woo. Garland for Severson seems pretty fair if we can extend him.

Presume Severson comes with a tidy extension. And I'm sure the Blues would be willing to throw VAN a mid prospect back for Woo, whom they clearly don't like for some reason.

No, but perhaps early-ish. One reason I have Hofer up, it's not necessarily meant for now.

I think the priority for an early season or late off-season trade is to free up room for Perunovich to hop into the lineup. No reason in keeping Scandella and Mikkola in the press box when Rosen and Kessel can come up when anyone gets hurt.

Injuries happen. I think Army got spooked by having a D injury/illness crisis three straight playoffs. I kinda don't blame him. But yeah, one of those guys can probably go, which one might depend on if Mikko is ready to be consistent. Or on what we could get for him.

Do people actually take the time to look at other teams cap space? Vancouver is already about $2,751,000 over the cap. Taking on Garland for Tarasenko isn't going to cut it.

Severson is an option, but is he really what Vancouver needs? I would wait until TDL to see the Canucks in action and look at Severson's analytics

Also, I read this article from 2020 about Severson. https://devilsarmynetwork.com/articles/damon-severson-elite/
Does this article's description of Severson still hold

I've seen loads of Canucks AGMs trying to get Severson.

If they want to win, he is. They need an RD upgrade in the ranks.

Thanks so much. You are definitely right. I would be okay with the 3 way trade. I am not too high on Jett Woo but would prefer to ship Viktor Persson instead of Woo.

Woo can be groomed to take Bortz's spot in 24-25.

Woo doesn't interest me at all, I think the Blues have equal defensive prospects to him and I don't see him actually making the NHL regularly. Garland is intriguing, however with the JT Miller deal I think the Cancucks are wanting to make a run at the playoffs and losing Garland hurts them

1- We don't have an RD prospect of Woo's playing style (or an LD, for that matter). Unlike Vancounver apparently, I think the kid has the game to step in for Bortz after 23/24.

2- Yes, but Severson would help them. Gotta give to get.

Parayko and Faulk are both locked up long term, Kessel is better than Woo. Woo will not be a NHLer, not saying Kessel will, however he has a better shot than Woo

Setting aside that I don't agree on Kessel being a better prospect than Woo, they are very different types of D-men. And I said he'd be there to groom for Bortuzzo's place. Faulk and Parayko are irrelevant.
