Interesting seeing Heinola on his offside. IMHO Demelo should be with Morrissey because that pair was great last year and Heinola should be on the left side with Pionk. Those two also looked good together and then a bottom pair of Samberg and Dillion is a solid shutdown. My only concern is that Bowness has developed a tall guy like Stanley before (Oleksiak), so he could also get playing time

i feel like winnipeg can improve their bottom 6 for even cheaper than that given toronto and edmonton’s cap situations. idk whats gonna exactly happen with the defence this year but it feels like one of our larger contracts wont get moved before the season starts. hoping that the best players will be played

Jets will probably keep more cap room available to account for bonuses so that they don't get nailed with significant bonus overages in 2023-24.

Edit: I think it will cost the Jets to trade away Schmidt (assuming there are any takers).

Edmonton would most likely pay to move foegele. I have a feeling Toronto isn't moving kerfoot. If they were it would probably be for this or a b prospect.

You're underestimating Foegele's value.

If Holland was wiling to pay to move Foegele he would have moved him already, Foegele is a good player with value but that value is less as he’s overpaid by 500k the trade is fair on both sides

Jets at a point where they need to play one of that 5th line every night, barron and harkins need to be playing minimum. Would also be nice to find a rhd dman to push the vets on that side and move on from stanley or Dillon. Lowry and wheeler playing together is going to awful, pity the poor guy that has to play with those two. Don’t really need fogele and kerfoot, but one wouldn’t hurt. If the plan is Connor/Dubois, and scheifele/wheeler, and Lowry/Appleton, there’s a couple lw battles and one rw spot, outside of the 4th line. Ehlers and perfetti probably first opportunity for top two lines, so leaving lw for Lowry/Appleton, possibly harkins, but there’s a need for a depth forward and upgrade possibly. Will be a interesting squad.

The real question that fans want answered is who has TSN hired (with input from TNSE) to be the new play-by-play announcer. grimace

Since Rodrigues isn't signed yet, I think you get him way cheaper than that. Signing a one year deal.to bet on himself is probably his only option, unless he loves PTOs.

I agree on the Barron assessment. He has the game to be a very good 3rd line guy - and needs playing time to do that.

What I will say is that this ine of the few Jets ACGMs that actually addresses the team biggest need: scoring from the 3rd and 4th lines. They have been black holes of production over the last two years.

It doesn't seem like they are moving him, most likely because they didn't want to pay to do so.

foegele is a useful depth player just like those comps but the big difference is the context, since hagel and goodrow were dealt at the deadline. edmonton needs to trade him to be cap compliant which lowers his price substantially

I could see Bell/TSN going super cheap (and young) and getting that guy who did the Memorial Cup with Kevin Sawyer.

Possibly, I think it’s hextall, easiest woke Pat themselves on the back choice.

I think you're right. I hope you're wrong. Watch them replace Orlesky and Beyak with Hextall and McGuire.

MUTE button lol, hextall probably wouldn’t be bad in between the benches or in between periods, but plain awful on play by play. Please no McGuire, hopefully there is some new voices and faces we aren’t thinking of. Orlesky still apart of it, or straight jets gig now?

I agree on the play by play assessment and I think Hextall has done well as the reporter. She was a good fill-in host when she did a couple of Jets games with Sportsnet ages ago. I almost have to cheer against Ottawa now that they have unleashed McGuire on the public.

Edit: I think TNSE and TSN have a deal where Orlesky will show up on Jets broadcasts from time to time with intermission features or something like that.

Another edit: I believe Orlesky mentioned that JetsTV would have an expanded post game show.

Sure, they won't be asking for a 1st +... but it also won't cost a 2nd to move him as has been suggested repeatedly on this site.
