NJ shouldn’t the giving up that much for a guy who should be seen as a cap dump (although I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a return like this based on reports)

Not sure Anderson gets a 2nd alone. Probably a late pick and that's it

I completely agree Josh Anderson is overrated, but Big Physical 220lb+ Top-6 Right Shot RW's are very rare, so their Values tend to be outrageous Name one other than Tow Wilson!?

Probably Easier & Best to put Nathan Bastian on a Diet and in the Weight Room to bulk up over 220lbs and make him a Tom Wilson/Josh Anderson. I like Bastian

I don't want Josh Anderson anywhere close to my team.

Other than size which is honestly not that big of a deal he doesn't have much to offer.

Josh Anderson has to be the only 6 million dollar 30 point player that is concerned to be anything like this.

Guess who else is a 6 million dollar 30 point player? Sean Monahan. The guy you just got paid a first to take in.

First of alll, it’s not 6M, it’s 5.5M.
Kent has been getting a ton of callls about Anderson and he had a down season last year. Sure, you can have your own reason as to why that was (injury, simply not a good player, Habs we’re a disaster, etc) pick one.

The year before he played very well so I’m willing to take the chance that it was an off year because of the disaster that was Montreal in general. We have no incentive to trade him if it’s not worth it. Again, we will be happy to keep him. All these offers are from other team fans

500k difference is less than a league minimum contract, but yeah sure I'll give you that.

Also Anderson's performance in 2021-22 was better than 2020-21's. And it still was bad.

Trade value and Anderson's salary aside, why does NJ need this at all? They have a perfectly capable 3C in Haula that they can play there, which then allows Mercer to play the wing and potentially compete for a top 6 spot. If they need help still and are a playoff team, then they can go acquire a rental.

I agree with that one. Benn's contract is ugly as f*ck.

I'd prefer to be without both.

I mean, again, we are happy to keep him. Unless you want to trade for him, he aren’t trying to trade him. So I’m not sure what you’re arguing about.

I don't think you guys understand what the Devils are giving up here:
- KHL rookie of the year in Gritsyuk
- Offensively gifted middle six winger with no long-term cap concerns in Johnsson
- The 3C the Devils just traded for in Haula.
And 2nds on top of that.

The Habs would be so lucky to get one of these assets for Andersson, let alone five.

Ok let’s calm down with calling Andreas Johnsson an “offensively gifted” player.
Secondly, why does the fact that you just traded for haula make him anything more than what he really is, which is a depth player. The fact that you acquired him yesterday or 6 years ago doesn’t change anything
Gritsyuk whil he did have a good rookie season, he’s nothing more than any other prospect that any team has. He’s a 21 year old rookie, mind you, so older than most other rookies.

The picks are what they are

So overall, the Johnsson, Gritsyuk and Haula components are really just spare parts, each probably having value anywhere between a 3rd and a 4th round pick. Every team has tons of these players….

And again, the habs really like Anderson and would be happy to keep him so they won’t trade him for a bunch of random players and picks.
