I don't think you guys understand what the Devils are giving up here:
- KHL rookie of the year in Gritsyuk
- Offensively gifted middle six winger with no long-term cap concerns in Johnsson
- The 3C the Devils just traded for in Haula.
And 2nds on top of that.
The Habs would be so lucky to get one of these assets for Andersson, let alone five.
Ok let’s calm down with calling Andreas Johnsson an “offensively gifted” player.
Secondly, why does the fact that you just traded for haula make him anything more than what he really is, which is a depth player. The fact that you acquired him yesterday or 6 years ago doesn’t change anything
Gritsyuk whil he did have a good rookie season, he’s nothing more than any other prospect that any team has. He’s a 21 year old rookie, mind you, so older than most other rookies.
The picks are what they are
So overall, the Johnsson, Gritsyuk and Haula components are really just spare parts, each probably having value anywhere between a 3rd and a 4th round pick. Every team has tons of these players….
And again, the habs really like Anderson and would be happy to keep him so they won’t trade him for a bunch of random players and picks.
