Both sides decline. There's nothing coming back from Tampa that comes remotely close to the value the Blues are sending back (1 year of Killorn kind of replaces Schenn's production in St. Louis, sure, but Bellemare is an old 4th liner, Myers looks like a 6th/7th D at best, Koepke is a non-prospect at this point, and what's likely a late 1st three years from now isn't all that valuable). Schenn is the most productive player in this deal, and Perunovich is a legit prospect at this point. The package Tampa's sending is nowhere near the value needed, and that's before you get to the fact that you're asking the Blues to retain 6x$2M on Schenn's deal.
But even though Tampa isn't paying much in assets, they still pass. I'd wager that the Cirelli/Sergachev/Cernak extensions this summer were based partly on the fact that Killorn/Bellemare fall off the cap next summer and the idea that Myers' cap hit dropping from $2.55M to $1.4M(and any cap increase). While Schenn makes the team better, even at $4.5M AAV they'd have to move another piece to keep him on board, and it's never great to make a trade that forces you to make another trade - and looking at their cap, it would probably be multiple moves because the only guys making an AAV higher than $4.5M are Point/Kuch/Stamkos/Cirelli in the forward group and Sergachev/Hedman/Cernak in the D. And even past that the next highest AAV is Nic Paul's $3.15M, and I can't imagine trying to move him one year into a 7 year deal.
