Description

Try Appleton on the top line to see how he meshes, can bring some defensive responsibility to offset KFC.

Scheifele-Wheeler are inseparable so use them to help Perfetti break into the league. Idk why he’s listed as RW and not LW.

Hoffman and Ehlers gives us a 3rd line that can score against other teams’ 3rd or 4th lines especially at home. Lowry keeps them honest defensively and wins draws.

4th line is what it is but Barron and Chaisson have show offensive flashes.

If missing the playoffs cost the coaching staff their jobs then I can’t see Chevy go far into the season without signing or trading for some depth scoring. Haven’t replaced Statsny or Copp to this point unless you count Barron and Appleton which are both downgrades IMO

I kind of want a blockbuster, Dubois, heinola, and Gus, two guys getting stuck in ahl anyway, and see what the return is from montreal, even if it’s a bunch of guys with 1-3 year terms, and picks and prospects with some team control. Kind of take a swing with one hand and defend with the other. There’s a few guys probably still on the Montreal gms list to get rid of the last guys misfires. What kind of uproar does last years first bring? Few vets he probably wants gone too, turn the room over to some younger players, where Winnipeg is still sitting with some vets, that could take it right off the rails or make it work.

If we plan on balancing out the scoring throughout the lineup then it should be Wheeler moving to the 3rd line. Giving him less minutes will help make him more effective at his age. Ehlers - Schiefele - Perfetti would be one really good line.

Habs would need to compensate the Jets to take Hoffman.

While I agree with the thought of running three balanced lines I just don't know if it matters with Lowry at 3C, not sure if even the Great Dane could get any offense out of that slug.
