Tavares wouldn’t have chosen SJ, and I really don’t think SJ would want that baggage either. That being said, assuming the cap could be worked out, this would probably be a much better team that what they are now.

At least the Sharks got a conference final run out of Karl. Tavares didn't give the Leafs squat before that deal became a nightmare. Also wasn't it reportedly 13mil from San Jose? Would have been even worse.

Wouldnt the deal then be done by now as wasnt it 13mill x 5 years or was it 6yrs

But then again that deal would have meant more dumps as once the pandemic hit 13mill would have been bad for a team right up against the cap
