While I don't think the trade is that bad in terms of value, I'm under the impression that Blomqvist is the least tradeable of the Penguins' goalie prospects.

Avs (after rolling on the floor laughing) say "Why would we give up a 1st and Compher for a more expensive verison of Compher?"

He's definitely a better version of JTC but not "1st round pick" better.

Not only in Goalie prospects, Hes the least tradable prospect period haha.

He's worse defensively, his career high point total is 38 in comparison with JT's 33, and he struggles to stay healthy. There's definitely an argument to be made that he has more potential, but better? I don't see it, at least not yet.

How do you figure he's worse defensively? His possession stats are better than JTC, especially his Corsi and Fenwick Relative rates and Devo is better on the dot (not a major stat IMO but he is better at FO's). Their deployment, usage and TOI are pretty similar, too, so it's a good comparison but Devo has played on horrible teams his entire career while JTC has been on a team on the rise for the majority of his - he gets to play with much better players. The health thing is an issue with Devo so that's a fair point - availability is a great ability. Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter to me because I don't think this is the kind of player the Avs would be looking for.

I think there's an argument to be made for Pickering as well, but otherwise I don't think there are any prospects I'm unwilling to send off.

That's my bad, I misread the advanced metrics. I stand corrected. Agreed on your last point, I don't see him as a target for the Avs.
