Pretty sure Blackhawks fans want half of your draft picks and your entire farm system for Patrick Kane.

They really want to make up for the DeBrincat trade. Sorry in advance for all the comments ur gonna get on this one.

Only a clown would assume that 34 year old Patrick Kane is worth more than DeBrincat was. Tbh only a clown starts a conversation by calling someone a clown.

You're pretty feisty today. haha. I think it's pretty unanimous between CHI fans that a top prospect and a 1st should be the starting point for Kane 50% retained. But most teams going after him need to dump cap, and that costs extra, especially when the cap hit is big and/or has term. And if they don't want to move a top prospect then they are going to have to make up that difference as well. If Giroux was worth a top prospect and a 1st as a TDL rental with 50% retained, Kane is easily worth just as much and then some.

I didn’t come on here and start calling people clowns. I pointed out that Kane’s value is incredibly high with hawks fans cause he’s had a fantastic career. The idea that ur getting a top prospect for a 34 year old tho… that’s kind of silly. Tippet wasn’t a top prospect lol. If u get someone like him it won’t shock me… just don’t sit around waiting for someone like Mercer either lol

Hey, relax. I'm just poking fun. But you did come on here and start firing shots at CHI fans. Our ask isn't really silly at all when put in perspective. Tippet is 23 years old, was a top prospect in Florida's system, ranked highly in a lot of prospect rankings, and is a former 10th overall pick. Also, he has produced at a point per game at almost every level aside from the NHL and has only played 115 NHL games. I'd say he still has a lot of upside at the NHL level. I wouldn't call him Elite or anything but I would definitely call him a top prospect. Kane may be 34, but he is still elite and will most likely continue to be elite into his 40's. So again, if Giroux gets a top prospect and a 1st as a TDL rental, Kane gets that and then some. As far as "cap dumps", If teams need to move cap and think those players have value then send them somewhere else that wants them, otherwise pay for CHI to take on the contract(s), because we don't want them otherwise.

It’s hard for me to imagine kane will be elite into his 40’s but who knows

That's fair. But it is kind of a moot point anyway, seeing as he is a UFA after the 22-23 season. The point I was really trying to make is that he is still elite right now. Also, saw one of your comments on another post about Cat. Cat is great, I love him and I'm gonna miss him in CHI. But he is not better than Kane. Kane had a big role in making him what he is now. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cat's production take a significant dip not playing with Kane. Also, I heard some speculation recently that Cat was never really planning on extending with CHI and refused to talk about extensions going into any trade talks, and that uncertainty played a role in lowering his trade value a bit. But If you ask most high end and elite players who they would want on their wing, I guarantee you Kane would be mentioned more than 50% of the time.

Patrick Kane is not the solution that gets the Oilers to the promised land. They're better off letting some other team overpay for him.

Rumors... I suppose history teaches us not to disregard them when it comes to the Oilers, regardless of whether they make sense.

Kane wont get more than what is proposed here. He is a rental that could walk away at the end of the year, that drives down the price. Young potential top 6 F, a good/elite prospect, a 1st round pick + more is a lot for a rental.
