Stars don't have the cap or roster space for Barrie, also I doubt the Oilers get a 2nd for him
Agree, Dallas chose the budget option to fill the void when Klingberg left. However, a second round pick seems a pretty fair asking price if the team acquiring Barrie is in need of an offensive, power play specialist RHD.

Patrick Kane isn't waiving for Edmonton, All reports are that he's staying in Chicago at least until the trade deadline.
And oh FYI, Those scraps don't get Patrick Kane anyways.
Edmonton's group of top six forwards are among the top 4-5 in the league, and they have 2 of the best puck carriers and distributors in the world. As great as Patrick Kane may be, and regardless of how the ill-informed value Puljujarvi, Lavoie, Schaefer, Foegele, 2 late 1st round draft picks and a late 3rd round draft pick, the Oilers absolutely should not pay that kind of price to address a need they do not have. More offensive punch in the bottom six, and another top-4 d-man would make Edmonton much better and would not cost as much.
