-Maybe Minnesota makes this deal? I dunno, Kerfoot is better than Jost but I could also see the Wild trying to keep as much cap available for the TDL - any team extending MAF has to be considered "win now". It's a fair deal though.

-Not sure why Buffalo does this? Both Bjork and Holl are bottom of the lineup guys so I can see it being a fine trade, but I think Buffalo gets something extra for retaining. Throw in a 4th and Buffalo probably makes it for the sake of the pick.

-The Caps aren't exactly flush with cap space either - I know they'll have some guys on LTIR to start the year but I assume they want them back at some point, and Hathaway is valuable to them at his $1.5M hit. It's similar to the Wild deal - if the team likes the player they're getting, I could see them making the move and eating a little extra cap.

He knows every player from every team and provides the best comments on any trade.

i wish! just a sports nerd who loves learning as much as i can about the ins and outs of each team. it helps that there's a pretty good community here with a lot of folks that are willing to talk frankly about what their team is good and bad at.

Personally I don't hate it as a Sabres fan. Buffalo is still weak on the right side and could probably use another natural RD. Bjork likely has no value and is nothing but a depth player at this point so retaining the 800k would probably make the value even. Buffalo could easily just have Sheahan in the press box over Bjork. With how often Dmen get injured Holl would probably be more useful to them over the course of the season.
