I like the trade rumour and I think the assets in this deal are really strong. Lassi is going to make a top 4 role most likely on the right timeline for ARI so that piece alone fits. Brannstrom worth about a second or third rounder. If you make the 2023 1st unconditional I think you get to pay so so much less. And the ARI ownership group looooves the gambo

… the team looks shy just about one Nick Paul to make the playoffs…

Talking about a meh return, 3 Dmen and a 1st for a top 4 LD.

Bill Armstrong wants a blue chip prospect and 2 1st round picks. If he accepts this trade he should be fired ASAP. He can get a far better return than this elsewhere.

Lassi is certainly a blue chip prospect. Was a 1D in the AHL and looked great in the NHL. 21 year old 1st round pick.
I wouldn't make this trade as Ottawa. Right handed D are at a premium and Lassi could easily be a top 4 D as soon as next year.
Chychrun is overrated af and a LD which isn't ideal

Chychrun to Ottawa makes no sense, As you will already have Chabot and Sanderson in your top 4 at LD. So this would basically put Sanderson at 3rd line LD which is a waste of his talent.

OTT shouldn’t like this because 1) Lassi is so legit and 2) their first next year by the halfway point of the season is probably going to be insanely valuable.

ARI not liking this I don’t get. In “who says no” I think OTT says no but they have a lot of pressure to dump Zaitsev and start winning.
