No.

Irregardless of whether Kerfoot is a good player or not. He is. But the single reason he's likely to be moved is for cap reasons. That makes him a cap dump.

You pay the other team to take him off your hands, you're not getting a B-level prospect plus cap compliancy when you're GM is up against the wall.

Besides, the Wild already have Hartman and Eriksson-Ek. Two players just like Kerfoot, that are just as good. And a prospect like Rossi likely making the team out of camp next month, why block him?

In no way is kerfoot a cap dump. Your logic is flawed. Didn't your team move Fiala for the same reason? How much did you need to pay to move him?

Whether or not he would be useful to the wild is a valid argument. Next to know cash owed and expiring after this season makes him a good fit contract wise. Considering he can play anywhere in the lineup and Wild are short on nhl forwards it makes sense to me anyway.

For you guys Kerfoot IS a cap dump. You guys have depth scoring issues, so you're going to move a third line winger? That's a cap dump.

Sandin go back to Sweden? Kulikov for Sandin's rights? Helps both teams. Kulikov doesn't mind playing RD.

Doesn't help the leafs. Yes Sandin is back in Sweden playing this season. Either that or an offersheet.

The Leafs don't really have depth scoring issues. That is just silly. A team with depth scoring issues, doesn't finish in the top 5 offensively.

Or he'll sign once the market for Kerfoot heats up. Which it will because now that Kadri has moved, there isn't a better option available.

A cap dump is a player not worth his contract. Kerfoot is just a cap casualty being moved for less than his actual value since dubas didn't move him earlier.

To be honest I'm not sure if they plan on moving kerfoot. It certainly seems like leafs have some ltir that we aren't aware of. It's the only reasonable reason that we have held in to kerfoot this long.

A cap dump moving a player to free up cap space.

Nope, Fiala was moved for that exact reason. I could go over plenty of other moves as well. Did Columbus pay to move bjorkstrand?

Your top six + your dmen tallied 234G out of 315G scored. That's 75% of your scoring NOT coming from your bottom six forwards. You don't have good depth scoring.

Fiala's RIGHTS were moved because they couldn't afford him.

That was another option I considered. Jost just isn't worth his contract, as small as it might be.

Exactly, does that not make him a cap dump? How about bjorkstrand?

These are not even close to the same situations. You guys CAN afford Kerfoot and you're looking to move him to free up space to do other things. That's a cap dump.

And I guess the contributions of Engvall, Kerfoot, Kampf, Spezza and Mikheyev didn't mean anything. Do you honestly think the additions they have made and the potential of getting young Marlies come up won't contribute some offence as well? Of course you'll say no, because no one on the Leafs or in their system can possibly ever be good. It's the rules eh?

We can or can't? You are shifting goal posts all over the place. How is moving bjorkstrand's 5.4m different than moving kerfoot's 3.5m?

How many teams finished with 12 or more players with over 10 goals? Tampa didn't, Colorado didn't, Carolina didn't. I'll save you the trouble of looking it yourself. Pittsburgh had 12 same as the Leafs. Only Florida had more players with double digit goals than the Leafs, with 13. So tell me again how bad their depth scoring is. Yeah the big 4 in TO certainly score the Lions share, but the way you are talking no one else should have scored anything then. Even your math going off percentage of team offence is ridiculous since the bottom 6 almost scored 100 goals alone. And you included 4 defenceman who never saw any PP time. So as I mentioned, they don't need depth scoring. Sure they could use more but who doesn't?
