I'd say maybe with the first added that starts to look interesting to the Avs, balanced against Pageau being somewhat overpaid. He'd be some kind of insurance for Newhook if he struggled (assuming he started at 2C), good in the F/O circle and whilst overpaid at 3C it wouldn't be a disaster. I don't know as the Isles would be willing to ante up that first though.

I should have been clearer. Overpaid as a 3C. If he's playing 3C he is overpaid if he's on a $5mil salary. That is simple, purely on $ per minutes of ice time. Either that or you somehow have a wealthy surplus in talent.

Hes averaged 17:21 a game in his 2+ years with NYI. He might play 3rd line 5v5 but he pks and plays the pp and generaly just plays big minutes. Hes well worth the $ and he gets the ice time for his cap hit as well
