Calgary Accepts. Not sure if there is a need to buy out Lucic, with one year. He is a fan favorite

I'm just thinking that he might not accept the trade to Philly unless he can become a free agent and possibly sign with a contender for league minimum.

Despite our noted aversion to acquiring rentals, I would accept that offer as the Los Angeles GM.

An extension could be in place, people make alot of fuss about rentals but I feel the majority of players sign with the team trading for them.

I agree with this, especially if it's a deadline deal.

I think the Flyers could get a first in that Sanheim deal and more in the Calgary deal, maybe a pretty good prospect instead of that third. Also wouldn’t buy out Lucic as he is a fan favorite big hitter and fighter with only one year left on his contract. With some salary retention I could see him get some assets back at the deadline.

I don't think they get a first but maybe a mid level prospect added on.
On Lucic I think buying him out would be the only way he clears the trade, then he can go sign with a contender. If he approved the trade then keep him on the roster.

Perhaps. I think since Lucic has already won, he may just be looking for someplace close to home at a reasonable contract (or to Boston).

I don't see any positive for Edmonton in that trade. Arguably asking for the two best players involved in the trade and picks....

Well upgrade at RW and upgrade at RD while saving 1.725M in cap space. They would have the money to sign Mcleod and run a roster of more than 21 skaters possibly. That's the positive for Edmonton.

Not sure I'd call those upgrades. I'd sooner just move foegele and keep both Jesse and Barrie but other fans have other opinions.

Theyre all a bit weak on the PHI side.

And Sanheim and Koneckny are young, other than acquiring picks, PHI is getting rather mediocre NHLers with term left on their contract in Barrie, Foegele, an expensive RFA in Pulij.

Sanheim is worth more than Walker and a midround 2nd,
Lucic is a cap dump, the 1st is probable mid to late round and the 3rd is TWO drafts away for Koneckny (who scored 50pts with most of the top 6 forwards missing, poor coaching, on a team who cant score. I think Koneckny gets more than the picks alone, let alone CGY adding (to PHI) a cap dump
