Assuming Holl for Schenn (50%) is a saw-off, Kerfoot + Niemela + First + 2nd + 3rd for 50% retained Miller is likely too costly for Dubas to pull the trigger. It certainly costs a lot to get Miller, but Kerfoot did just put up 51 points, and Niemela is a blue chip prospect by all accounts, and then there's the 1st and 2nd (and 3rd).

Trades where one team gives up a roster player, top prospect, and multiple picks rarely works out well for the team that gets the best player in the trade.

Seems like fairly reasonable players going both ways, definitely could see it being proposed from Vancouver's side, Toronto would probably counter with less and Vancouver probably hangs up the phone

I just don’t see dubas giving up one of our top prospects (Niemela, Knies or Robertson) for a rental. Zero chance we can extend miller

LMAO kissing their sister, so unhinged tears of joy

Like, Leafs can win a round without having to add another star player... MAYBE. Bringing Tampa to 7 shows that they should be able to beat a less potent team. We'll see what happens, I guess.

With the Leafs, it's a different problem every year why they lose, imo. Bad defense, bad forward depth, bad coaching, stars don't show up, no depth scoring. Worse goaltending every year, too. But it's not always the same reason why they lose.

The Leafs' flaws will be exposed this season. If they need more punch up front, maybe a trade like this is revisited if the Canucks get off to a bad start, but I think the Canucks will surprise some people this year. Pettersson should have a bounce back year, and another year of development for Hughes + the added depth is really nice for them in a weaker Pacific division.
