I'd rather have Sean Walker than Joel Edmundson. Even if you do want to make the swap, he's not worth a quality player like Vilardi.

No reason why Walker can't play on the left. At best, I'd 1-for-1 Walker for Edmundson if I really cared about that.

From MTL I wouldn’t do this trade either
Maybe Edmundson vs Durzi but not Walker

Absolutely no motivation to get rid of Lizotte.

I think Anderson and Durzi get the opposite's deal.

Montreal has to add in an Edmundson for Durzi swap.

Nah Edmundson is the better player and got another year left on his contract and fit in the top 4 right away

I think if you look at this trade from GMs around the league perspective, Edmundson > Durzi

I can't think of a single metric where Edmundson is better than Durzi. Size I guess? Durzi threw the body around pretty well and even dropped the mitts a couple times this season, so it's not like he's lacking in the physicality department.

Age, cap hit, offensive production, defensive efficiency, etc., all favor Durzi. He even plays the more desirable and rare RHD position compared to the much more common LHD.

I understand that, but Edmundson despite the metric (alias Ben Chiarot) is very good (better than Chiarot by a lot) and he too just went to the SCF with MTL and won a cup with St-Louis. You add on top of that Bergevin is there in LA, they would love the player. But that’s a move LA shown they are serious to win now

I don't think Chiarot is very good, so that's not saying much.

People put way too much stock in the fact Bergevin is an advisor in LA. He'll be there to give his two cents, but that doesn't mean he's going to be able to talk Rob Blake into trading a quality LHD under team control for another 4+ years for a guy in his 30s that will be a UFA in 2.

I'm not saying that Edmundson is bad. I'm sure the Kings would look at him if they needed to add a physical option to the bottom pair. They're not going to give up a quality young defenseman and more for him though.

That’s the problem, if you value him to be a 3rd pairing guy, that’s your view. He would be playing on LA top 4 for sure

On the Kings, he'd be a 3rd pairing guy.
