Sj is not helping Vegas. If there is a trade for a Sharks player it will be a substantial overpay.

What makes you say that? Because there is significant fandom hatred? That I believe. Doubt Grier and McCrimmon particularly care

I figure it gives them cap space and gets them out of Ullmark with a back up coming back. Then they go swayman starter.

      Over with 24 man roster.

They are under the cap simply by burying Wags and Foligno. They may move him next off-season but don’t have to.

If they move him now it’s to improve the roster. This does not.

Certainly no Bruins expert. Was spitballing here.

Also did anyone like that Foligno deal when it was signed. Seemed pretty obvious we'd end up here. I hated the price the leafs paid for him at the tdl

Why do you think Allen holds such value?

Cause I don’t think the Habs are desperate to move him, especially given Price’s situation.

Vladar makes league min. Doesn't make any sense for the Flames to move him at this point

What about Nedeljkovic? UFA next summer and $1.5M cap hit if 50% retained.

I don't think there are that many teams looking to move a goalie. Most of the goalie trades happened earlier this season. If Vegas had pulled their head out of their ass and not pushed a limping Lehner onto the ice for multiple games down the stretch, they might have gone into the off-season knowing the needed a goalie, and been able to pick up a reasonable one year replacement. Probably could have kept patches on LTIR until the post season too.

All of this points to the fact that Vegas has no idea what is going on under their own roof.

Almost like this is what got DeBoer fired. Most FO leave player management to the coaching staff.

They can try. But insurance for a moderate cost seems smart. This team is too good today to waste on questionable tending (see Edmonton last year)

Some of these are going to cost more than you think. To me, and I proposed this in another AGM, you go after someone like Craig Anderson. Veteran presence who's still performing well and will be pretty cheap. These guys are all fine, but most will cost more than they should like Reimer and Allen.

Craig Anderson is essentially a coach on the bench who you can toss out there in a pinch. He has no place being on a contender as any more than the 3rd or 4th stringer at this point

I dunno man. His stats were solid playing on a really bad Buffalo team and he filled in nicely for the Caps in the playoffs a couple of years ago.

I think you misremember as the expectations were so low in Buffalo, and he started the season well. By seaon's end his save percentage last year was: 0.897 with a 3.12 GAA (https://www.nhl.com/player/craig-anderson-8467950). He did play two good games (thats all he played) for Washington in the playoffs two years ago. I have no doubt he has it in him to have a good run of games, but I don't believe he can sustain quality play.

He hasn't had a season where he played more than 4 games (he played 4 games two years ago for washington and had decent numbers) and had over a 0.903 save percentage in 5 years.

He's done from anything more than a veteran back up. Not a bad choice to back up an established starter who you can turn to in a pinch (the way Halak is getting jobs), for example if Tampa wanted to sign him behind Vasi. But he can't be expected to put up a lot of starts

50 goalies have played 101 or more games since 2017/18 https://www.nhl.com/stats/goalies?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20212022&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,101&sort=savePct&page=0&pageSize=50

Anderson is tied for 48th with a 0.900 save percentage (only Korpisalo is worse, don't understand why people don't see how bad he is either).

He's last in GAA by a decent chunk (he has 3.30, second last 3.17)
