Description
Don’t see any action on Miller & projecting he’ll resign at 6/8.5m. It’s rumoured Canucks want to keep it in the low 40m range. They gotta budge imo.

Garland becomes my pick to move. He’s a play driver we’ll miss but on a good contract.
Morrow will get Canes fans up in arms but he’s still unproven. Hoglander has the opportunity to step in on a bounce back season.

So something else has to give & cap dumps are highly improbable. Do not see assets going out to facilitate that.

What I do expect is top 9 will score at a rate that will be capable to carry the team. The D is what it is but I do think as a group they get it done to compete for the playoffs. Injuries will be the decider.

Buyouts for Pearson & Poolman could be in store for next offseason for cap flexibility & resignings.

Lots of hope will be on the kids being 1 year older & better. A reasonable ask.

Ferland to LTIRetired day 1 to accrue more cap flexibility for a TDL move. Canucks to use cap accrued space in a 3-way to gain more picks.

We wouldn’t trade Morrow for Miller, what makes you think they would for Garland? He’s unproven but hasn’t played at the NHL level yet

Garland is a good player, but I wouldn’t pay that price for him

Why not? Are you satisfied the Canes can go over the top as currently built? An unproven 2nd rounder albeit developing well isn’t available based on what?

What is fair for Garland? Is he a key add?

Patches gone & he’s be injury prone for awhile. Burns will bump offence but his D has warts.

A late 1st is not motivation to move Garland.
I don’t want to move Garland other than it frees up TOI for others. He’s a play driving water bug with a high motor with good D & top 5v5 play. A perfect Canes fit.

Bc I’d rather have Morrow. I don’t think Garland move us over the hump. Makes us a little bit better but if we’re really going for it somebody like Kane is the difference maker. I’d give a second and another prospect, but I wouldn’t give up Drury Morrow or Kochetkov unless it’s for a true impact player coming back.

Understand if you don’t want to move Garland for less, you certainly don’t need to move him. But I’m not sending a top prospect for somebody like Garland.

Patches wasn’t moving you over the hump either then. Both are top 6 winger types but 1 is old & breaking down & the other is in his prime.

I get it though if Garland is not what you want. Good contract.

A healthy patches yes, but to your point he’s clearly breaking down. We need a true goal scorer and finisher. Patches is a perennial 30-40 goal guy. Garland is a very good 2 way player and would be a great fit with the canes but he’s not an elite goal scorer which is what we’ve been missing for a long time.

I agree need is an elite goal scorer but who is that? What would you give? They are untouchable far more so than a D prospect.

That’s what I’m saying. I’ll give up our top prospects for a guy like Kane, Pasta, etc. I know our FO is hesitant to give up premium assets for rentals but I personally would at this stage of our window. I just wouldn’t for guys like Garland, Beauvillier, etc.

Kane dictates his own future.
Pasta costs a kings ransom.
Miller is in his prime rental or not but no Canes fan in here agrees with that. He easily upgrades KK at C. A more important add.
Beauvillier isn’t in Garlands league.

Canes laugh hard. Morrow is breaking UMass records. He's doing stuff at UMass no defenseman has done before at UMass.

Like @Caniac2000 said, Morrow is breaking records at UMass. If you don’t know who set those very records, it was one Cale Makar. I’m assuming that you have heard of him. So yes, Canes fans will get up in arms when you are trying to snag our future 1RD in Morrow in trades. I love Garland, and was really hoping the Canes go after him, but they aren’t going to give up Morrow to acquire him. Honka and a 2nd, sure I would take that, but Morrow is an untouchable prospect right now.
