Description

Montreal could find themselves at a very nice spot come trade deadline. While they may not have any super valuable pending free agents, Montreal is very good at drafting in late rounds. Since 2023 is supposed to also be another stacked draft, Montreal could easily find a diamond in the rough in the fourth or fivth rounds. Cap dumping Armia is obviously going to be expensive but opens up a lot of cap space in exchange for players who are unlikely to play in the NHL in the foreseeable future.

That is true and I did not know that, could probably get away with no retention on the Allen deal tho and just take out the 7th and still be fine.

I sorta like the Hoffman trade just don't see it happening though....getting him would block a prospect from coming up. I think the Wild would pass and keep the small amount of cap money open for other options that would be a 13th FWD and sit in the press box, having a 2.5mil player in the press box would not be ideal.

Very fair. The trade to the Wild sounded better in my head than in reality lol. Still could work for some other teams tho (Flames, Sabres, ducks, unlikely but Avs, etc.
