Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Add only 2023-24 UFA's to complete the roster to fill the dog days of August. No RFA's from other teams, no trades, strictly UFA, Devils RFA's and Devils UFA's can be re-signed. The emphasis would be to compete for the cup the next 3 years or so with the reality of having to pay market value which includes the downsides of the contract aging badly.

I have to say the exercise was not easy and had to get over tendencies to just re-sign Devils players and stay under the cap. All in all it was a fun exercise just to kill some time.

Moved out Devils RFA's for the purposes of this exercise after comments albeit probably unrealistic.

- MB trade just to move him out, Devils take a loss on this since he was a 2nd rd pick
- Yegor trade is at the trade deadline for the kind of trade TB seems to do every year
- We got Tarasenko, St. Louis needs someone up front even though not likely this type

I’m assuming trade deadline? I can see Severson and MAYBE Bratt but confused on Sharangovich.

Good question, I will have to edit to consider that. In all likelihood let's posit Severson walks as a UFA after TF tries to sign him and didn't trade him at the deadline. Since I am making this a UFA thing, the easiest thing to do would to be trade Bratt and Shanrangovich for picks or future assets even if that may not be quite realistic.

Please add your thoughts on what happens to them. I just thought I would have some semi-realistic fun with free agency next Summer.

Severson - dealt for futures at deadline. (Luke Hughes arrives a few weeks later and we forget Damon ever existed).
