I don’t see ERod taking 2.5 unless he’s desperate (and he rightfully could be).

I think other teams have definitely offered 3+ But that term is iffy. If SJS (just my own team so that it’s my own opinion) - I wouldn’t offer more than 3y and anything over 4m is scary. He’s probably trying to get 4m but if anyone can get him at 3m I think it’s a great deal.

I wouldn’t want him for more than 2 years or 2mil, and a 2x2 is sketchy. He’s been an okay 4th liner for his entire career, with the random exception of 30 games. His last 50 games last year he had like 12 points. That’s not the type of player you give term or big money to.

Changes per situation tho, Arizona or **** teams don’t need to worry. The Sens or Flames for example should never touch erod (and Toronto) over 2.5 but the player definitely wants
3 I would say. He was a major part in sustaining the Pens and he played well in the playoffs to add.

I agree it’s a hugely sketchy situation which is why it’s taking so long for him to sign but some teams can afford the risk. Arizona is the best situation for him like someone else earlier pointed out.
