Hartman was their #1C last year for $1.7M. They can't lose that contract considering all the dead cap they have.

I was trying to play around with an ACGM to see if they could sign Kadri. But that dead cap literally kills any moves for them. 3 years of it too. Yikes.

MIN needs both Rossi and Boldly to be huge if they want to have a true chance. Boldly has all the signs of yes and Rossi is looking good. Just will he be good enough.

One of the worse trades posted this summer. Hartman makes 1.7m had 34 goals and 65 points and played centre. How is 7m Nylander alone, any improvement on the ice for the Wild?

I did....still absolutely no logic for Wild to make that horrendous trade, Sure trade Dumba to Ottawa to free up space for Kadri....but it's absolute robbery for Leafs to get that return for Nylander.

OK now I have it added in multiple spots. But just for your eyes... " I am sure the Leafs would need to add considering the value of Hartman"

Hartman is a good player but I’m not a big Greenway guy. People see his size but fail to see he doesn’t live up to it

And see I’m the opposite. Greenway in the games I’ve watched has been physical and hardworking. And somehow not a clutz with his size. He’s the asset in this trade I’d be most excited about.

Hartman also doubled his career scoring average this past year. Good player (especially at that cap hit) but I wouldn’t give up on Nylander unless you get an elite player back

Not enough people understand this. It was either give up a slew of assets to get rid of them, if they would even waive (I don't think Suter ever would have) and risk getting screwed with cap recapture from them retiring early

or

Keep them, which wouldn’t free up any cap space (Guerin saved a significant amount of cap last season) and doesn't change the culture or free up any roster space

or

Buy them out, which frees up the most cap space without risk, frees up roster spots, saves assets and changes the culture, which has been a huge goal of Guerin's

It also opened up two protection spots in the expansion draft.
