It was reported that UFA Klingberg wanted a 7m X 7 year contract......He settled for 7m for one year.
What a player wants.....meaningless. What a GM will pay the 32 year old Kadri (and few teams have the cap now) is the important issue, not meaningless reports what Kadri wants.

Really not interested in quixotic attempts to squeeze Kadri onto the roster. I don't think he's going to be worth the term he'll inevitably ask for.

SJ isn't acquiring another NHL goalie. What are are going to do? Run a 4 goalie rotation Kahkonen, Reimer, Hill Korpisalo? No.

No GM in the league signs a guy and then immediately trades him. That's a great way to never get another FA to sign with you ever again, and it's not like Columbus has a line out the door for that in the first place. Yeah, the Gudbranson contract kinda sucks and we don't understand why Jarmo gave it to him. But it is what it is, and it's not going whywhere.

Kadri isn't signing in Columbus, and Columbus isn't ponying up for him anyway. They got their big (tiny) fish in Gaudreau.

If that AZ trade were available, it would've been made weeks ago.

And yeah, no chance in hell STL takes that Gudbranson contract. Not just because it's a bad contract, but because if they did take it on, CBJ would probably have to attach 3 1sts and a top prospect to the trade.
