Good list. It's hard to rank goalies.

In Calgary, it wasn't long ago that Tyler Parsons was the goalie of the future. Now I'm not sure he even wants to play hockey anymore. It's so hard to predict.

Even as an Avs fan I think Annunen is overrated. He had a good year in 19-20 but hasnt been good since then (in Liiga or in the AHL)

I remember that WJC tournament when he seemed like he was on top of the world.

I remember Parsons at the WJ tourney, he looked like the real deal.

Fair. I prob have Kolosov Higher because I'm biased and he's pretty young and already playing in the KHL. Could See Askarov falling he's been kinda disappointing. Same with Luukonen

Byron model is pretty flawed especially towards goalies. He has the Sabres goalies ranked as the 25th best even though they have the two best goalies In college hockey.

I am shocked *SHOCKED* that another ‘model’ underrated NCAA players and overrated CHL players.

Maybe i'm wrong here generally wondering, didn't Mads Soeggard have a very good year in the A and Ottawa is really high on him? Or is that just some Ottawa bias?

Also what about Dryden McKay the hobey baker winner?

Two things:

1. Clang was sent to Anaheim in the Rakell trade

2. Blomqvist is better than clang (and is thus too low). The reason management felt comfortable trading Clang was because of how well Blomqvist has been developing.

He was a fantastic junior goalie, both in the WJC and winning the Memorial Cup.

It's too bad because once he turned pro, he battled mental health issues to go along with an inability to stay healthy. Hope he does well with wherever life takes him.

McKay is a unique prospect in that his college resume is as good as any player since Ryan Miller. But Minnesota State plays a stifling defensive system that often limited shots against to single digits. There is also the PED suspension, but am not too worried about that. And size concerns as he is (very generously) listed at 5’11” 164 lbs. He is signed to play in AHL or ECHL this year. Will be interesting what he does.

Well done with this. I like to rank prospects as well and this is very well done for goalies. They are the hardest to rank tbh. The only criticism I have is that 1) daws isn’t a prospect anymore, he played 25 games last year. 2) I think you have blomqvist a bit low. This is very well done overall and it’s a nice metric. The only other thing I would suggest adding to make it slightly easier to determine why you ranked player A over player B is adding their ages. Like kochetkov and skinner have similar AHL stats but one is 4 spots higher than the other. Obviously kochetkovs Russian play but also his age is a huge factor as well. Overall great job with this, really well done.

Interesting, ya I didn't know much about Minnesota states play and how he actually was performing other than just his numbers. Just seemed like remarkable numbers for a goalie that wasn't really being discussed about as a top nhl prospect.
