I think Stastny, Milano, and Rodrigues should all be near or under 2.5M AAV, which would bring the Avs cap hit up to $81,252,500 which would allow them to accrue enough space to add a significant piece at the deadline. I chose Toews in this post but it could be anyone. I put Toews on LTIR to show the Avs roster before the deadline, but after the deadline Toews would be moved to 2C, shifting Newhook down and knocking the worst performing forward out of the lineup.

So now that the cap is worked out, we just have to decide on which one of Stastny, Milano, or Rodrigues would be the best fit. Positionally, Stastny and Rodrigues make sense since they can both play C which is the Avs weak point, but Milano is youngest and could end up being the best player of the three

I added a chart in the comments with some brief advanced stats for all three players over the past 3 seasons. Rodrigues had the best 21-22 season imo, but it seemed to be a sudden jump up from his previous career numbers and may not be sustainable. Milano was also pretty solid last season posting slightly better underlying numbers than Stastny and is the youngest so theres upside there too, while Stastny was very consistent over the past 3 years, played in a larger role, and comes with the most experience. Id be happy with any of these three guys at or below 2.5M (and Ive experimented with all three of them in previous ACGM posts), but im still not certain which one I prefer over the others. What do you think?
