If Detroit's out of it at the deadline, sure. Not making any roster player trades right now unless it's a blockbuster for someone elite, we're happy with our roster.

I mean my initial reaction is yeah Detroit takes it but faksa has 3 more years and idk we might need the cap by then.

I don't think Detroit would accept the deal as proposed. Unless they think Faksa is better than he has been showing lately. We want to start winning sooner rather than later so taking a cap dump deal just doesn't seem like a thing to do right now.

Probably gonna cost more than that to dump Khudobin. And the picks would need to be in 2023.

He’s got a year left to his contract. It shouldn’t be too costly to get rid of him. At most I guess 2 thirds could end up being a price

You might be able to get away with two 3rd's. It would probably end up costing a 2nd though. And whatever the picks are, at least one of them would need to be a 2023 pick.

8 years is a horrible idea for a young goaltender. Give him the bridge deal for three years. Something in between what Hart and Demko got at the most. Anywhere from 3.75 to 4.5 million would be reasonable imo. Kid was mediocre during the regular season then was a stud for ONE playoff series. People need to chill out on these Oetter contracts

Seeming they are far apart on contract talks apparently. He’s not getting $6M lol. Its funny hearing someone say the complete opposite of everyone else. You don’t want him paid to a long term deal at 23. Most people would want to pay a 23 year old to a long term deal like him. But rather not pay a 30 year old to even a 5 year deal lol

I’m fine with giving Robertson 8 years. But he’s a forward. I think Nill is taking a more business approach to contracts after what happened with Benn and Segs. The more business approach takes time and negotiation

Seguin and Benn were each in their late 20s I think when they got their contracts. That’s the difference. You got both Robertson and Otter at 23 looking for new deals. I think Otter can only get better. Robertson could get better as well

I’d say 90+% chance you’re right but goalies are different. All I’m saying

Goalies can be weird though. But I have a good amount of faith in Oettinger. Easily one of the best on the ice for the Stars. Gotta remember Dallas didn’t exactly have it together a whole lot through the season
