No way CBJ are moving Sillinger. Take him out and you’ve got a deal for the picks, maybe send some money back like Bean. Or Voracek.

couturier one of the best two way centres in the league, no way just a first and second rounder.

Lol you don't think Provorov fetches a 1st round pick, being a top 4 dman who plays in all situations whose been on a bad team? I''l take out Walstrom and Raty, but I'm sure Lou would be interested in having a top 4 dcore in Pelech-Pulock, Provorov-Dobson, Romanov-Mayfield. Makes it one of the best in the league.

islanders didnt move the 13th overall pick for a 3rd pairing guy. We also have Salo, who is without a doubt going to be a full time NHL player. Only way we make this move is if we move Salo as a part of the deal.

But, Provorov isnt worth a 1st. he isnt. will he get one? Probably if a team is desperate. but he isnt that stature of player

What I was thinking too. Allen has same number as Hart at almost half the cap hit yet somehow Montreal is giving up all kinds of extra. If Montreal is in the playoff spot near the deadline it is either because Price is playing, thus no need for Hart, or Price is hurt and Allen is the reason they are in a playoff race, so again, not trading him for Hart, forget about all the extra included.

McDavid
MacKinnon
Matthews
Draislaitl
Bergeron
Barkov
Eichel
Malkin
Stamkos
RO’Reilly
Crosby
Kopitar
Point
Aho
Zabinenjad
Backstrom

Then maybe Couturier.

We all have different definitions of what “one of the best” means. He’s probably worth a prospect also, just can’t be Sillinger, Johnson, Marchenko, Jiricek, Cuelemans or Mateychuk.

Agreed. CBJ a bad fit. Philly would have to heavily retain or take some significant cap back as well. And there is no situation they're moving Sillinger short of landing a top 20 player. None. They also won't be anywhere near the playoffs, so it's moot.

(God, it's been a decade and it still sets my teeth on edge that Couturier was taken with Columbus's pick for Jeff Carter)

Wouldn't worry about it. Columbus' future looks really bright with Jiricek, Sillinger, Johnson on the way as well.

Disagree. He’s not worth a first and Bailey. You can find a similar player on draft day.

Quoting: oliver_wahlstrom
Wahlstrom and Raty then you could add Bode Wilde or a 2nd. Thats also the most that he would get. More likely just Bailey+First rounder

Just say islanders are not a good fit and move on. Provorov gets more than your counter offers easily

People give him hell for no reason. They’d gladly pay double that for Chychrun who was only at a .05 PPG pace higher and had the same advanced stats. Statistically these two guys are identical… one is just 2M cheaper while also being fragile as hell…
His play was easily worth a first and a high prospect, just ACGM is filled with people who see one person say something and everyone repeats it like it’s true

I have nothing against him. He’s just not a worth a first and a top prospect. Tbh Chychrun is incredibly overvalued too so I don’t like using him as a comparison lol.

Chychrun is definitely overvalued but that’s mainly because guys on here make offers of 2-3 firsts and several high prospects for him… but he probably gets a bit higher of a return than Provorov due to cap… granted if you’re a playoff team looking to go deep, Provorov is the better choice just because he has far less chance of getting hurt.

Islanders are just the wrong fit. It’s hard to find a top RHD in this league, with Dobson running the D there Pelech is a fantastic partner for him. But Provorov takes that 1LHD on a lot of teams. It’s just not a need for you. Romanov just got 13 OA, which is insane; and clearly Provorov gets more than him, but the islanders see something in him I guess and you’re not going to make a trade to put Romanov on 3LD…

A lot of these sorely over value the return those players would actually get, especially when you take into consideration cap struggles across the league and actual situational needs for the teams you’re moving those guys to.

Meh, a first and a high prospect definitely… I mean, you guys traded 13 OA for a much worse player lol.
Bailey in the above trade is a cap dump but I also don’t see Bailey as that. I think he has value, not a lot but enough that he gets a return

While the Islanders don’t really need Provorov, there are several teams that could use him. A first and a good prospect is really not a bad asking price…

Overpaid???
It’s really not a lot at all… for a top pair puck moving D, possibly 2nd pair if the team is deep.
Kings would if they can move 1-2 mill to fit him
Wings could use him but they’re too far out as of now
It’s not really hard to find a buyer at that price

1.1 GAR, a career low. That has been decreasing each season since 19-20, has not surpassed a .5 ppg season in his career, with his career best happening in 17-18. He has only gotten worse defensively and has 3 more years left at 6.75.

For the record, his 1.1 GAR was good for 503rd in the NHL this season. His point per 60 of .946 was good for 124th in the NHL this season.

So why would a team move a 1st and prospect for an average, maybe above average overpaid defenseman?

Im not saying he wont get more than a 6th, but thats just not his value. If your answer is that some NHL GMs are stupid then sure, ill take that. But its not because he is a high caliber player
