Bjorkstand's return was honestly garbage. He is easily worth a 2nd. CBJ needed to shed salary and Bjorkstrand's salary was higher so maybe that factored into the smaller return. But Beauvillier's cap hit is more easy to swallow for most teams so I can't see him going for anything less than a 2nd.

Who they moving then if they want to make room for Kadri?
There's a lot less interest in Bailey and Pageau from the other 31 teams. And there's not a team in the league that will take Palmeri unless the Isles pay which Lou will never do.
11m in cap space left for Kadri and need to re-sign Dobson & Romanov. If Isles have thier sights set on Kadri which all reports say they do, then a body has to move. Beauvillier is the prime candidate for this.

They could move Bailey, but based on Baileys age, cap it and steady decline in production since his career year of 71pts in 2018, they'll likely get next to nothing in return or even have to pay assets to move him. Who wants a 32 year old with term making 5m a year who's only going to give you 35-40 pts? You'd have to give me a 2nd round pick to take him.

Beauvillier on the other hand.

Getting next to nothing for return or moving a 2nd or 3rd rd pick to take Bailey is a lot better than trading Beauvillier. It isn’t close.

The only team that's currently below the cap floor of 61 million is Arizona. They are the land of accepting cap dump contracts in exchange for bribe picks...They will not be giving up assets to acquire a 32 year old declining winger.

Chicago would also take him for bribe picks as they're headed for a hardcore re-build.

Other teams with a boat load of cap space and could easily absorb Bailys contract and term are Anaheim and Buffalo. But Bailey doesn't move the needle for either club. Best case for NYI is they trade Bailey to the Ducks or Sabres for future considerations and don't have to give anything up.

Yea, From a NYI perspective....but from the perspective of the other 31 NHL clubs...Acquiring Beauvillier for as cheap as a 2nd is a lot better than accepting a 2nd to get Josh Bailey. It isn't even close.

If the cash strapped Isles want Kadri. Give me Beauvillier.

Maybe Detroit wouldn’t do it, but a team like Arizona would considering Baileys salary is 1.5 mill less than his cap hit - or a rebuilding team like Chicago who wants to tank.

The isles aren’t required to give up Beauvillier , I don’t understand why fans on this site feel entitled to certain players from other teams.

When isles fans were making ACGM trading Nick Leddy to Detroit for a 6th, every DRW fan said it would cost a 1st to dump Leddy. Look how that turned out

I wouldn't say every fan said that. I was trading for Leddy for a third and was getting roasted by isles fans.

It had to be a majority. I had Leddy for a 5th or 6th rd pick and every comment was “yzerman would never do that, isles have to add a sweetener”

The isles aren't required to do anything. Keep the team you've got and go into training camp with that.
The Coyotes aren't required to help the Isles and take on Josh Bailey just to make cap floor. They can just sign any UFA to a 1 year 3 million contract and they're there and say screw helping NYI out if they don't want to pay up with a couple 2nd round picks.

Show me the picks or show me Beauvillier. Show me neither and I'll show you the door.

I know it's a fact that Beauvillier was told recently hes not getting traded, so I mean you can continue to think that beau is a future red wing, just like the isles were supposed to attach a 1st to Leddy (thanks for Raty) . I would bet a lot of money that Beauvillier won't be a red wing by the time the season starts. You must be a part of the group of RW fans that think isles would trade Barzal+ for Bertuzzi.

Isles would have no problem paying a 2nd rd pick for Arizona/chicago to take Bailey.

Barzal+ for Bertuzzi sounds made up.
Beauvillier probably won't be wearing the winged wheel come opening night. But if he was to be traded, it would cost Detroit a 2nd to get him into a red sweater.

Barzal was trending yesterday because RW fans think this is realistic.

The isles don't have plans to trade him so it's all good.

I stand corrected. Bertuzzi for Barzal 1 for 1 is stupid. I love Bert but Lou would deserve to be fired and sent to an old folks home for that. Signed this Red Wings fan.
