He's one of the best prospects in the league. You're not getting someone like him for Bratt.

Do the Devils have cap issues? Do the Devils have a need to trade him?

@DongLord23 I am truly amazed, Jesper has ONE season with over 35 points and suddenly he is worth more than a good prospect and a first?
It appears the Devil fans really over rate their players.
Let's keep Olofsson (and Rosen) as over his career he averages 24 goals/82games v Jesper's 19 goals/82 games.
Let me add, last year after Olofsson's wrist healed, over his final 34 games he had 15 goals, or 36 goals over an 82 game season plus 13 assists for 28 pts or 68 pts over 82 games.

I would rather keep the devil I know than the Devil I do not, let's pass on this trade especially if ALL the Devil fans think it is not enough.

Fiala was only going to sign with one team. If Bratt is more open to extending, he's worth more, yes.

It’s not enough. And Bratt is light years above Olofsson

You say Bratt only had one good season then talk about how Olofsson had a good half a season lmfao. So he was on pace in a 34 game stretch for 68 points over 82 games? That's worse than Bratt had this season (actually a full season) and Olofsson is 27 and Bratt is 23.

All I'm saying is if Bratt came into the league as a 22 year old rookie and put up 30pts in 46 games then followed up with 73pts in 76 games, I'd imagine he'd be viewed a lot more favorably. But because he played in the NHL since he was 19 he gets penalized (ex. "he's only ever been a 30-35 points scorer!!11!!)? When a lot of later round prospects would still be in other leagues developing?

If Pat Kane comes to Buffalo next year it is for 5.5-6 mil a year. No way 9.5. We would never be able to afford him.

Do the Devils have cap issues? No

Do the Devils have a need to trade him? After only getting a 1 year deal and can walk in 2024. Seems like it's headed that way. Like Reinhart, Fiala, Buchnevich all over again.

Bratt had a very good season. Similar to Tage Thompson. Had very good analytics. Devils may be forced to trade him because of his contract situation. Would be a smart move for Adams. Similar to Fiala.

I don't think the Sabres are keeping him long term. That's why they signed him only 2 years walking him to UFA. Seems like a trade this year or next is likely.

First of all thank you for your comment.
Second, of all of the forwards Buffalo has, Olofsson is the most tradable and most likely to receive a decent return.
I love the comparison to Fiala.
If one presumes they are about the same value, the Sabre offer for Bratt is better than what Minn. received for Fiala.
Rosen > Faber and Buffalo 2024 first > 2022 19th OA.
I know the Devil fans lambasted me because they mis read my comment and thought I was comparing him to Olofsson, I did not do that only that I would rather keep Olofsson.
I guess my head exploded when the Devil fans thought Rosen should be replace with either Tuch or Peterka.
Your offer was VERY GOOD, only to have Devil say it is not enough? Or Buffalo would give up Peterka who may be as good if not better than Bratt in two years.

Finally, combining the two trades Buffalo is trading Olofsson, Rosen and 15th OA (I am guessing where Buffalo will finish) for Bratt and 25th OA (I am guessing where Colorado will finish) that seems to be too much.

I should know better when ACGM's over rate their players they ALWAYS MIS READ comments and draw their own conclusions.
I think we may see Olofsson get 30 goals next year, who knows if Bratt may return to his mid teen goal production. So "I would rather keep the devil I know than the Devil I do not."

It was reported by insiders, and Devils GM Fitzgerald said he wanted Fiala but Fiala only wanted one team

8:25 in the video. I can't find other reporting on it, but it seems to be common knowledge that Fiala was only so cheap because he refused to sign outside of LA.

It sounds like Guerin was locked in with LA. Probably because he really liked Faber. Fitz says, "it's his team & it's his player". That sounds like he's talking about Guerin & not FIala. Doesn't mention anything about Fiala not wanting to sign with New Jersey.

First thank you for responding.
It is ironic, I just looked at this today, let's say Opps, big mistake!

Rosen and the first would have been a steal, but if you read my post, I was objecting more to the over all change in the line up proposed in the two trades.
Losing Rosen, Olofsson and moving down in the line up.

Bottom line, it was a big swing and miss for me.
Bratt is worth more than Rosen and an early first, and the Devil fans were correct.

Fiala got a 1st + good prospect at a PPG season

Bratt is having a similar season

I still think he's around that same value
