Assuming that Husso can play at a similar level to this season, looks like a playoff roster to me.

The depth at ld is the strength of the farm system so giving up berggren and a 1st plus seems unlikely. Love the player but they I'm not sure it fits.

Who do you think Kylington is?

You've left no money to sign Vrana/Seider/Raymond and didnt even trade Hronek to at least offset some cap strain.

Kylington is a top 4 dman who put up 9 goals and 30 points last year, and still has room to grow. He was analytically great, and waas decent in the playoffs. Hronek comes off the books next year, along with Kubalik and Perron, so resigning those three wouldn't be too difficult

Between the 7.8m of cap already, Perron, Vrana's expiring deal, Hronek's deal, Kubalik, That's 24.7m to use on those three guys before factoring a cap increase

Plus 1.85M for the ELC's, and 1M for cap increase:

Vrana gets ~6-7M, the other two, depending on term and how they do get around 9M each, Seider probably more than Raymond, either way there's enough cap space here, especially if Larkin and Bertuzzi take cheap-ish deals, to go around.

I like Kylington but that is a massive overpay. That Miller contract is awful as well.

You think they lose Hronek for nothing? Odds are at least two of those 3 you mentioned are re-signed. You're leaving out a renewal of Vrana as well, which will be at least $6M - there is not enough money, however without that Miller contract then there might be.

Plus, Kylington is not worth Berggren AND a 1st rounder, let alone the rest of what you offered. He doesn't make this team that much better.

Talk about major overpay on Oliver Kylington.

And Tyler Bertuzzi gets closer to 6 x $6,500,000 he's not an $8,000,000 player.

I don't see that they are still competing with Boston, Ottawa, Columbus and Washington or Pittsburgh for 2 wild card spots.

This is a year out, a lot of those teams could be taking steps back by then. Washington, Pittsburgh and Boston are getting old. Boston has one of the weakest center spines in the league as it stands currently, and there’s little hope Bergeron will be around in 23-24 to fix it. Rangers could fall dramatically within 2 years if Shesterkin regresses. (Not saying it will happen, but goalies can be incredibly fickle, going from Vezina caliber to below average within 2 years isn’t unheard of)

I think Perron gets flipped at the TDL and that's why he signed with Detroit. Before giving up that much Kylington I would like to see what Wallinder can do or at least see how he has progressed in a year. Detroit isn't a playoff team yet and why give up assets we don't even know if we need yet.

Yeah but if Bergeron does sign for this season I do think they are better than Detroit. But I do think there is a shift in the balance of power begining in the East its just not going to happen fast enough to benefit Detroit this season.

6M - 5.25M for his current contract. A raise for him is literally just an entry level contract. Perron is old enough where they probably don't renew him, at least not for this much, and Kubalik is pretty expendable with the new guys coming in.

Bertuzzi, in a full season could be at least a 30+50 player, and he plays on the PK. Those kinds of players will cost you a lot these days.

Only problem is Bertuzzi can't still play in Canada, So he's going to lose at least 10 games per season right there. So more than likely he wont hit those numbers.
