That’s a massive overpay for PK “Slew Foot.”

Dude jumped Wally last year cause Jack Hughes ran into him and got hurt. I used to love watching Subban but I wouldn’t sign him for above the veterans minimum rn.

Wahlstrom stuck out his knee for a knee-on-knee hit. It worked, Hughes was injured and it ended his season. Subban skated across the ice, challenged Wahlstrom who dropped his gloves first. Subban beat him up.

That was it.

“Jumped”. Lol.

Bold of you to assume Wally is a good enough skater to do that deliberately lmao

Dude it happened that way cause Hughes dodged. Wally actually reached out and apologized afterwords. They go way back. I seriously doubt it was intentional.

Not sure which was worse aspect of all this.

JBD for only a 5th

Frederic for only 7th.

Burying Zboril…as if nobody would claim him for one and others get buried before he does

Those contracts: Zacha for half of what is expected

oh and POS Subban for 4m for 3 years? as bad as everything else is…that’s the worst. He’ll likely get a 1 year deal for 1.5 or less.

I doubt it was intentional too. But he did it.
And regardless of intent, Wahlstrom is still going to pay the price.

If McLeod took out Barzal's legs and ended his season, what do you think Islanders would do:

A. Be like, "oh, its cool, they player junior together" and let it be

B. Bloody McLeod up a little

I mean it wasn’t a dangerous looking play even. I don’t think anyone agreed with Subban at the time or that they would now. It’s a weird argument to have.

Barzal wouldn’t tense up and try to dodge. If Hughes had just taken the hit normally he would’ve been fine.

So it’s Hughes fault? That’s rich.

It was a dirty hit that resulted in an injury. Subban got Jack’s back. Walhstrom deserved it. And I’m sure Wahlstrom will see a few extra hits next time they play.

I do not think Subban did anything out of sorts here.

I seriously doubt that. It wasn’t a dirty hit. Hughes needs to be smarter.

I can tell you never played hockey.

The way Wahlstrom led with his knee is not normal.

What you are suggesting Hughes was supposed to do is not taught at any level and counter-instinctual.

1. You are taught to absorb a hit to the body. This was a hit to his knee.

2. You are taught to take hit into boards. He has already turned away from boards.

3. The puck had already cleared the play and Hughes was heading toward the net.

4. Wahlstrom led with his knee. He could have played body. But he didn’t.

I understand peoples gripes because Hughes and Subban are the most hated players in division. But the bottom line is incontrovertible. It was a dirty knee-on-knee hit. And if Wahlstrom hasn’t gotten hurt by Subban, he would have faced a fine.
