I like the idea. Just a heads up Gawanke isn’t waivers exempt and 100% will be claimed so jets have to consider that now too. I genuinely don’t understand what their plan is for the blue line. They will not transition to the youth and continue to jam them up.

Same man, I genuinely don't know how the blue line is going to shake out...we need to start playing the youth.

Yeah, we’ve needed to start playing the youth the last 2 years haha. No idea how the roster is going to end up. I just hope samberg and Heinola aren’t buried in the minors.

AND they just keep drafting dman after dman after dman, like seriously wtf is their plan, I get not everyone of them is going to pan out and your supposed to draft best player available but they have way too many dmen at the NHL and AHL level.

Gawanke might be the best diamond in the rough they've ever found if they'd just play him and find out, really hope he isn't lost on waivers but his contract seems like it's built that way, had they structured it with say two years and the second year being a one-way contract kinda like Kovacevic's then maybe you could see they were trying to keep him but a one year/two-way deal looks like the writing is on the wall and they expect him to be claimed. If he is claimed though the team that snags him has to keep him on their NHL roster so maybe and hopefully he makes it through.

Gawanke is one of my favorite Jets prospects, wish the guy was given a chance.

It would be a tragedy if he wasn’t given an opportunity. I really like his game and for F sakes he’s a decent sized RHD that moves the puck well. We need those type of guys!!!

Like you said not only are they jamming up the young guys by not playing them and bringing in Dillon & Schmidt. They’re continually drafting dman just furthering their issue that they don’t want to fix.

I third the sentiment that the team needs to start playing the youth, but that goes completely against the team philosophy of the last five years. This is a franchise who ruined Niku by having plugs like Bitetto, and Beaulieu playing instead of him. The Jets are a graveyard for young prospects.

At least Stanley and Dillon should of been traded by now, but we're a month away from camp and they're still around, so I'm more expecting Heinola demands a trade and is sent out.

I’ve been waiting for that Heinola trade request for over a year now. I wouldn’t blame the guy one bit. I really hope bringing in a transitional coach like Bowness (see what he did with Seguin and been) can start that transition to the youth. But again like you said, they still have a major log jam on D and have done nothing to fix it.

Just like I didn't blame Jack Roslovic either. Heinola has looked very good in the limited time with Winnipeg, but he keeps on getting sent down. Maybe Bowness will play him, but the team needs to clear up that logjam first; which they should have done weeks ago.
