MSL is good at helping players to up their offensive numbers. That's amazing because it makes them more valuable for trade. Like many, I can't wait to see what he can do with Drouin. Imagine Drouin is a PPG player under MSL... we'd still have to trade him but I bet we get a boatload for him because he's finally "reaching his potential".
Its possible honestly as Drouin even in a crap year produced at a 59% production rate
That's with a horrible PP where a lot of his numbers traditionally are strongest putting up 22-26pts in MTL and TBL with different units
His numbers now are single digit on PP that said he's played a lot less those years and given his game totals is production rate on PP wasnt that far off really.
His biggest issue is something i 100% believe MSL solves day 1 like he did for Caufield
"Why didnt you move Anderson to top line LW"
"i felt we needed Size and Grit up there so the kids dont get taken advantage of"
INSTANTLY became my favorite habs coach in that interview
They were trying to cut him down because he did lose the game to be fair
But Anderson-Suzuki-Caufield played like a top line should so he was smiling ear to ear
He built on that
I'm hoping the same thing for Drouin
I think by Putting him in the right position he'll succeed
Dach and Anderson make the most sense as neither is afraid to fight
Dach only had 1 career fight but it was against Blake Coleman and he handled him nicely.
Point is they'll protect Drouin enough so he can move
Thats assuming MSL has this roster to start the season
Hughes said on Bob Mckowan's TSN 690 i think it was that he intends to make moves specifically moving out Winger or two
