Description
Habs fans will likely want more for Devorak, but I'm not sure he's really worth more after last year. Even giving up a first is a bit of a tough pill (imo). But I do think he's better than Compher and could thrive with better play driving wingers.

The hope would be that he has a good season or two and can then be moved to recoup much of the cost (or even flip a profit).

I think 1 year of Dvorak helps them and either he explodes and they consider retaining him, or he does more or less what he does every season and they flip him for another late 1st or an asset or even cap space.

Dvorak could have a 60pts season on the Avs... The team is so good you get points through osmosis

Imagine this though
With MSL he had 18 pts in 22 games
He could have that with MTL under a competent coach.

Dvorak plays 3rd line keeping him fresh for PK
Rather then play Dvorak 18-22 minutes a night MSL plays Pitlick in that same role
As a Result Pitlick had some great numbers in his 37 games under MSL as well

That's double Dvorak's average projected Offense MSL got out of him
I'd be curious to see what he could get if somhow Dach makes it as 2nd Center(i think that's why we kept Pitlick as insurance.)
While Pitlicks a crap faceoff Center he commands the role in every other aspect quickly becoming one of MSL favorite and most used plays outside the big 3 (At the time anyways Romanov's gone now)

I think like Lehkonen who also went a PPG after Pitlick center'd him i might add
We'll rely on whether or not Dvorak plays too good to keep at this point

MSL is good at helping players to up their offensive numbers. That's amazing because it makes them more valuable for trade. Like many, I can't wait to see what he can do with Drouin. Imagine Drouin is a PPG player under MSL... we'd still have to trade him but I bet we get a boatload for him because he's finally "reaching his potential".

Its possible honestly as Drouin even in a crap year produced at a 59% production rate
That's with a horrible PP where a lot of his numbers traditionally are strongest putting up 22-26pts in MTL and TBL with different units
His numbers now are single digit on PP that said he's played a lot less those years and given his game totals is production rate on PP wasnt that far off really.

His biggest issue is something i 100% believe MSL solves day 1 like he did for Caufield
"Why didnt you move Anderson to top line LW"
"i felt we needed Size and Grit up there so the kids dont get taken advantage of"

INSTANTLY became my favorite habs coach in that interview
They were trying to cut him down because he did lose the game to be fair
But Anderson-Suzuki-Caufield played like a top line should so he was smiling ear to ear
He built on that

I'm hoping the same thing for Drouin
I think by Putting him in the right position he'll succeed
Dach and Anderson make the most sense as neither is afraid to fight
Dach only had 1 career fight but it was against Blake Coleman and he handled him nicely.
Point is they'll protect Drouin enough so he can move

Thats assuming MSL has this roster to start the season
Hughes said on Bob Mckowan's TSN 690 i think it was that he intends to make moves specifically moving out Winger or two

I remember Gorton was on the show. Was Hughes on recently?
