Only way I see a trade is getting much creative or not in the cards. Mayfield doesn’t make this happen being the better NHL piece. Beauvillier is not what the Canucks need. Purely for the Isles to balance cap won’t do it. Bailey cap dump & a big package might be the only wag to go. Eat his 1 year if the rest of the package makes it a go.

Schenn is a legit bottom pair D. I left the 3 other prospects to fight for that last spot. I am sure one of them is ready. If not they can sign a bottom pair guy quite easy.

As for Raty... READ THE DAMN DESCRIPTION OF THIS AGM! - "Line combos can be adjusted 400 different ways. So don't pay too much attention to them." - If Raty isn't ready he goes to the AHL and Parise slots into the top 9.

Miller would still be the Highest scoring player on the Isles, I'd be more then happy to keep him as "our problem" was it confirmed the isles had a trade in place? All it was Van and NYI were talking it could be very much so Van didn't like your guys offer, you would have been better off trading that pick for Miller than Romonov

Miller trade is slanted towards the isles but definitely is crazy. However, can we please stop pretending that 25 year olds with 6 years in the NHL like Beauvillier are "young players" -- he's a fine middle 6 winger in his prime, not a prospect with years of team control who could develop into a star

And what I was saying is we would be downgrading too much on our Defense. Having a rookie such as Salo and Schenn is not a good pair for us. I don't care about Miller. I don't want Miller and his huge contract price. To me giving up Beau, 1st rounder and Mayfield hurts too much.

We need cap space to sign Dobson and Brazal (next year). Need to get younger and faster. Miller at 30 yrs old who wants 8M + for 6-7 yrs and a downgrade with Schenn is not a smart move by isles management. We are NOT 1 player away from the cup.

Fair if you don't want Miller, but I don't see anything wrong with a 3rd pair of Schenn and Salo, even if the Isles are more than 1 player away from getting back to contention
