Who are we helping Colorado get under the cap if they sign Kadri? Adams Is to smart. Will never happen. That is a lot to give for Girard. He may help us but put the pressure on Colorado to get under the cap.

I wouldn't trade peterka for girard if the picks were coming from colorado.

The whole idea is to use Avs cap situation and get player cheaper than his worth. No point giving Avs fair price.

if you look at young dman traded lately you'll see that isn't fair price.

Sabres attendance fell off pretty hard to start last year, it rebounded towards the end. Covid rules hurt, so did losing for a decade, plus losing our best player- even if it looks like the trade worked out pretty well for us. So my point- our owners are sick of losing money on the Sabres, seems like they are quite comfortable at the floor. Don't think there's much traction to add players now unless they are too good to pass up or the compensation to take them is too much to turn down. Girard would be a nice player, but we don't really need left d, and there's no chance we would pay a premium of a jjp or a Samuelsson. The op is probably as far as I would go, and they probably get a better offer elsewhere.
