avs wouldn't do either player without an extension they can afford for horvat.

girard isn't a good fit for vancouver. he's diet hughes with slightly better defense.

VAN is not moving Horvat. Also, any Miller trade to TOR would have to include a Liljegren or Knies.

yea the cap space is gone after this season. i dont think they can afford to keep him either.

Sure they will! Eric Johnson cap hit with 6 mil will go away and Girard they are trading in this scenario. So they can sign Horvat and MacKinnon.

no they can't. ej's $6m goes to nate. girards $5m goes to byram and comphers $3.5m goes to newhook. with enough left over to fill those roles with near league min contracts.

Lol that Leafs trade is atrocious… This is why I say Leafs players are so under valued cause people think they have cap issues. Leafs aren’t going to dismantle their roster for 1 kid.

and an extended horvat comes back. which is why it doesn't work. girards money goes to horvat instead of byram. it frees up maybe $2m from newhook going but that;s not enough to replace newhook and keep byram. see why it doesn't work now?

Newhook isn't getting a bridge deal worth an AAV of 3.5M, and Byram isn't getting 5+ million, those two guys aren't gonna be as expensive as you think on their second contracts
