Sanderson is expected to be the 2LD. I hope Thomson or JBD has a great camp and can win a RD job, because having Zaitsev out of the lineup for literally anyone quite drastically improves our team. I also would rather watch a young guy with upside and that is capable of doing good things make mistakes as he learns, rather than watch Hamonic, who I know will just make mistakes and not contribute much of value at all. Ideally we get another top 4 RD and Thomson or JBD are pushing Hamonic out of the lineup, rather than Zaitsev. I wouldn’t be surprised if our starting lineup was Chabot-Hamonic / Sanderson-Zub / Holden-Zaitsev though, with Brannstrom scratched.

Up front, Pinto is a lock for 3C between Joseph and Formenton. The only 4th line spot that is likely set in stone is Watson on RW. Kelly will likely be the favourite to take the LW slot over Hawryluk, although I think Reinhardt may surprise people and earn some games. Kastelic and Gambrell will fight for the 4C job. Greig, Lodin, and Sokolov are all in the category of deserving a look, but likely won’t stick around long so they can log big minutes in the AHL.

As is, this is a hot take but Brannstrom or Holden needs to play their offside with Chabot and the other plays 3LD .

Are you seriously using stats of an teenager Jack Hughes to show that Pettersson is better than him? It doesn't take rocket science to know that Hughes is gonna be a star in the NHL. Using takes like "0.65 points per game" and "Hughes had 7 goals as a rookie while Pettersson won the Calder" is obnoxious. If you actually watched Hughes instead of cherry picking stats, you would know he didn't have "49 good games". Lost alot of respect from me with your Canucks bias and one sided takes

If you’re talking about my argument with another person, you should know context to it. It all started when one Devils fan called Hoglander, Podkolzin, two firsts, and a second round pick scrap parts saying how they aren’t valuable and are middling players. They then want on to say how even Pettersson isn’t enough. Now a new Devils fan is trying to convince me saying that Hughes is much better than Pettersson but is not backing their statement up with anything, hence me asking Db1899 for stats so I can actually compare the two players.
