Outside of matthews and Marner, Vancouver has the better forward group. Especially if Toronto does trade away Kerfoot, who is currently their 6th best forward but they don’t have the cap space to keep.
Toronto has the better overall D-core but Vancouver has the best defenseman in Hughes. It’s sort of the opposite to how Canucks have the better overall forward group but tor has the better top 2 forwards.
Toronto got worse this offseason, Vancouver got better. And from Dec 6 (the day boudreau started) to the end of the regular season, Vancouver and Toronto were only sepereated by 4 regulation or overtime wins (34 to 30)
These two teams were pretty close last year (though Toronto a bit better) but after this offseason vancouver will be better
