Description

Nate is known to be a great friend and admirer of Sidney Crosby. Sid's big contract came with an AAV of around 14 percent of the cap, if my research is correct. So I think Mack does the same sort of thing here for his big extension. Sid is also known to be superstitious so he took a cap hit of 8.7M to go along with his number and birthday (8/7/1987). Mack was born in 95, so a 14 percent cap hit of $84M is about 11.8M. On an 8 year deal, Mack gets the lucky number $95M.
