Description

The Caps have had a great offseason, assuming health and everyone stays at the exact same production level next season this could give the Caps unprecedented depth to make another run in the Ovi era. The balance of the lines would be insane, solid 1st line, huge second line, defensive minded high skill third or if NB isn't healthy it insulates CMM as 3C, and Lavi's favorite 4th.

Huberdeau trade is 1st and Lapierre cap dump of Eller and Leason - like BMac did in the Vrana trade.

2. you are over the cap lol
3. still not good enough to win the cup with this team.
4. not realistic.
5. you would need a miracle for ovi to win another cup, already happened once hard to see it happening again. luck has an expire date.

Even if that was the case, they're not retaining the majority of his AAV to facilitate the trade for a 1st and Lapierre. Eller and Leason are just spare parts in the deal. Caps don't have leverage here. Calgary would have a handful of teams who would offer more and Calgary wouldn't have to retain salary.

backstrome and Wilson will be healthy before the playoffs so you won't be able to keep them in ltir
