Top 2 lines pure scoring (I see Panarin and Kreider swapping between the top 2 lines until chemistry is formed), 3rd line shut down peskiness, 4th line gritty bruisers.
It works long term as well. Next year, there are 12 contracts signed 15.1mil in space with major pieces Lafreniere and Miller needing to be signed, bridge them to 4mil and 3mil contracts respectively (this is best for both parties, as Laffy and Miller will wait for longer term contracts when the large cap raise comes in a few years), and that's 8.1mil for the remaining 9 bottom pieces (3rd line winger [Othman], 4th line [either resign the existing 4th line to similar deals, or FAs], 3rd LD [Robertson], backup goalie [Garand or Domingue], and scratches).
NYR solidify the identity on the 3rd line, while passing on assets that likely would not have remained long term regardless, given their top 6 and top 2 D pairings.
I feel like this is enough without picks, but add picks if it is necessary. SEA gets a skilled 2C ceiling center, a young cost controlled middle 6 ceiling winger, and a young cost controlled offensively talented RHD to quarter back the power play, something they are really missing over there (I know they added Schultz, but he hasn't been very good at that as of late).
I know, but with the Trocheck signing, Chytil is never going to get a top 6 role here and that's really where he "belongs". I don't think he's a good 3rd line guy. His line was great in the playoffs because the 2nd line was terrible in 5 on 5 and they kind of became the 2nd line, getting more offensive zone situations, etc. He's a skilled guy, and they gotta stop trying to make him like Lars Eller, and let him be a skilled guy... just, unfortunately somewhere else

trading 3 potentially top 6/top 4 guys on cheap deals doesn't seem like a good recipe to win a cup. no less for a middle 6 forward

I'm not sure if you've seen the existing top 6 and top 4, but there is no room for these 3 there... not now, not for at least the next 4+ years. May as well get the perfect 3rd line guy out of it

i have but when you look at the timeline of these players it fits quite well. Next year trouba has to be traded due to cap problems. that makes a spot for nils. we have no idea what kakko is going to be like. and i dont think chytil is that worse than gourde right now. i like a third line of chytil krav and goodrow much more than the third you have here.

Is he getting a shot over Beniers and Wright either?
