Said it a bunch of times already, but Huberdeau had some trade protection. He either waived (unlikely) or wasn't opposed to CGY. That's a good start. He's the most important player in the Flames organization. They need to throw the bag at him.

I have a feeling they'll try for 8, but I think 5 is the sweet spot. Will be interesting to watch for sure, especially with the likely huge cap raise in a few years

They were ready to do 10.5x8 for Johnny. They're the same age, so 10.5-11.5 is fine with me. Might have to overpay because it's not easy to go from South Florida to Alberta.
