Subban won’t cost more than 2M
And no way Seattle make this trade

If they have the space, why wouldn't they? Drouin can get a 2nd+ at the TDL retained if he has a good year (which he should given its a contract year). Byron, if healthy could also be flipped with salary retention, if nothing else he is a leader. Mysak is literally a 2nd round pick... so that alone covers the 2nd they are trading.

I believe it is a fair trade. Kraken pick will be either 34, 35 or 36 OA for 2n rd and HABS are giving back good assests.

I just don't see Byron's value at 3M+ cap hit. And when you think about it, both Byron and Drouin are injury prone so the risk is there.

What if Seattle counters with this? :
Drop Byron and swap the 2nd rnd for a 3rd?
Habs get 5M+ in cap relief, and Seattle takes on the risk of having a Dud.

I'm still not interested in trading Drouin, but that's a reasonable counter. I agree no team should take Byron without MTL giving a pick, and MTL shouldn't be giving picks with there current state of a rebuild.

That is why I added Mysak to counter the cap for Byron. Keep in mind Byron is fast, great penalty killer and could put the puck in the net in clutch situations provided he stays healthy

But why? To pay Subban $4M? I think there are better alternatives than dumping Byron.

Yes Byron IS fast and has a huge heart, how can we forget his contribution in the last playoffs? He's like our mini-mcDavid but he's just not worth all that $$ IMHO,especially after this last season.
