Unfortunately for this case, you cannot reacquire a player with retention for a year after the original movement. Would probably be abused yearly. Love the creativity though hahaha

I mean, if we can fit everyone under the cap while retaining on Gus, I'm fine with it. Particularly if it lowers the price. Circumvention aside, we also need to move him because we need his roster spot.

FWIW, particularly in light of everything Team Canada right now, I've grown more on the idea of moving Bean.

Move Tarasov to the AHL (it is likely where he spends this season anyway), place Danforth at RW on the 4th line, and add Sweezy or someone as a Scratch at D.

One of Marchenko or KJ (or both) will spend most of the season in the AHL, IMO, which I'm fine with.

Unless the D really progresses, and Elvis can find his touch from two seasons ago, I'm not sure I see us as more than a WC team, maybe; but, still, I'd take it. Gonna be a fun year.
