Détails additionnels:
It Just doesnt make much sense for the Habs to trade anything of real value in the middle of a rebuild/retool. I don't see why thats so hard to understand? Aditionally, next year's draft is extremely deep. Why hurt themselves by adding a decent player to the mix? It's just not the right time to make a trade for him right now, wether he came to the draft or not and wants to be here or not. I know Jets fans are gonna be upset but theres some very good prospects and players in that 2nd column including two roster players you could flip for even more assets in return and if thats not what Winni wants to do then why not sign him to a 2 year deal and send him to a contender? Market him as a rental and then a team like Minni, Tampa, NYR, Florida, Edmonton or whoever is willing to buy a player at a rental price like that has 2 years to try and impress him and get him to stay.

I'd have Farrell in the no trade column as well. Probably Mailloux and Primeau too seeing as MTL isn't deep at RD or G and neither of them would've the needle much for WPG.

I would trade Beck or Kidney if the package is reasonable personally.

I don't disagree but to be fair i just couldnt keep every prospect with any potential on the do not trade side of things.

I really like Farrell a lot and i really hope he doesnt get traded but if the return is a PLD like player then its a no brainer.

Mailloux also is a good piece to keep around because of the basically no depth on RD as you mentioned but of the defensemen in the system i see him as probably the most expendable. Theres a premium on puck moving RD's so he could be one of two B-ish prospects to be traded in something like this and it could also kill two birds with one stone if upper-management is sick of answering questions about his history. (I dont think the habs are looking to dump him either considering theyve doubled and tripled down on saying hes a good kid who made a mistake. )

Lots of sense in all that.
And lots if sense in being patient with the team and PLD.

Unlike many other Habs fans, i think you're right about Barron. WIN would have to take one of Armia/Hoffman instead of Edmundson. MTL have too many forwards.

Barron leaving would hurt a lot. Isn't it 1 year early for this deal?

Let Dubois prove he can be consistent.
See what we have in Dach (If Dach meets his potential, who needs Dubois?)
Get the highest possible pick in 2023 (If we get Bedard, who needs Dubois?)

Dubois feels like he can be an important cornerstone for the Habs, but they need him in 3 years... Not now.

Let's be honest, Dubois is the one that got away, which is why I think Habs fans are pining for him. Had Columbus followed the expected script at the draft and picked Puljujarvi, the Habs and Oilers supposedly had a deal to swap the 4th and 9th picks. So instead of drafting Sergachev and ending up with Drouin, we would have had Dubois. So there seems to be a desire to right some cosmic wrong. That's the only thing that explains this bizarre obsession Montreal fans suddenly seem to have about landing this individual. To be sure, the Habs need to fix themselves, but there's a collective blinkering that's underway.

I understand the desire to get the best player in a deal, but it's the Agent pushing this deal, not the Habs or the Jets. If the Jets lost control of the situation and want the Habs to make a deal, they have to make a DEAL and not hold out for Max Value.

If Caufield publicly said he won't re-sign in MTL and wants to go only to Minnesota... We would not expect full value in a trade.

I just don't get the obsession with Dubois. He's a fine player and he's a francophone, but big f***ing deal!!! He's no one's saviour. If he comes at a fair price, great. But a ridiculous amount of man-hours have been spent on this site alone recycling slight variations on the same 3-4 trades while excellent options go unexplored.

It's not so much that he's francophone... It's that he is francophone and WANTS to play here. Not many do.

True. The Journal de Montreal and l'Antichambre crowd are bored of crapping on Drouin, so Dubois is the next local kid they can turn into a saint and then crucify. Poor ****.

Hughes would be fired the same day if he made that riduculous trade lol. Its fine if thats the price but if that was where the jets were at i dont think the conversation would proceed any further. its not like Dubois is the final piece they need. If jets want to hold out for that then hopefully for their sake someone is crazy enough to overpay at the deadline.

If MTL send Dvorak and Hoffman in that deal, i don't think they're a better team next year even if they add Dubois.
