Before everyone overreacts make sure you know the following facts:
Lindholm 2018-22 = GP 289, G 117, Asst 144, TP 261
Barzal 2018-22 = GP 308, G 69, Asst 157, TP 226
I am 45+ year Isles fan loyally but we all need to get off the Barzy elite wagon. He has elite talent but it has yet to manifest itself outside his rookie season. Lindholm is quite honestly the better player at both ends of the ice. So this just thinking out loud if perhaps youth for youth maybe actually improves the team
Tarasenko is worth a first and then some at the deadline. See Claude Giroux.
I have nothing against Tarasenko. But his age and term make me think the isles shouldn’t give up that much for him. Isles aren’t in a position to do that. Especially given the fact their pick may be in the lottery.

I doubt they will be in the lottery but possibly. They can make it conditional which would be the likely scenario. The issue with the isles is they don't have an identity. Slower but methodical (like the Blues in 2019) or do they want to go upbeat. With someone like Barzal, they should put focus on some speed in order to get more offense. A guy with Cup experience and does have decent speed like Tarasenko would seem like a great match.
Get the concern with his age, but Lou seems like he wants to win now so it makes sense.

I agree about the player just not the return. I don’t think Lou wants to move picks rn. He moved a first for Romanov cause he’s 22 and has a relationship with Sorokin from their KHL days.
How was that a bad trade? Giroux was excellent for them.
It’s not about Giroux. It’s about the fact they needed a defenseman more. And they gave up a cost controlled asset in Tippet and traded a good player like Vatrano to do it.

Tippet wasn't getting it done in Florida and Vatrano was just okay. He isn't that big of a loss. Giroux is a better player.
All TDL trades are gambles and Giroux was great for them. They went all in and lost to Tampa who proved they're still great. Not their fault Vas decided to show up.

I guess but that blue line was atrocious and they didn’t prioritize it. I’m not a big fan of Chychrun but maybe they would’ve been better off targeting him.
