Description
Tkachuk is the big game. But he's going home to St.Louis in 2 years so why give up assets for him? It would be a waste. Smart teams will chase after easier prey. And there is enough for everybody. The whole league can feast. A lot of talented good players can be plucked from the perishing Flames.

Why would Tkachuk wait two years? He is ufa next season. If he chooses to.

Personally I would keep the younger Sandin. Tanev and Muzzin are ticking time bombs. Mangiapane although I like him isn't a player I would be looking to get. Scores a lot but doesn't make his teammates better.

The 1st will be a late one. And Sandin has not even played 100 games yet and he's acting bigger than the team. Bad sign. I like him, but he has not yet proven to be a consistent top 4 defenceman.

I agree that the team always comes first .......but this kid just wants to be assured regular ice time for the next two years before he signs a bigger contract.

Dubas needs to move out Muzzen or shift him to right defence and sign Sandin for 2 years at $1,800,000 and promise him he will be second pairing left defenceman.......Tampa plays their young players but Leafs jack them around......Time for Kyle to step up as a GM and make a tough decision to get the Sandman signed.

That would be ideal. Sandin has great potential. Dubas should have at least traded Kerfoot and Holl earlier in the summer because everyone knew a situation like this would arise. Now he might get less value back for those players.

As for Muzzin, the Leafs are in a tough spot with him. If he stays, I think pairing Muzzin with Giordano on the bottom pair would make sense, with Gio playing on the right. And Sandin-Brodie, Rielly-Liljegren would be the other pairs.

Mangiapane is on record saying he is looking to sign a long term deal with the Flames as of like 2 days ago. Wouldn't trade him for that package let alone add Tanev

Guys have to earn their time, you don't just give it to them. And it's Keefe who makes the lineup not Dubas.

That makes absolutely no sense. Kadri is the only remaining FA who's better than Kerfoot and a lot of teams still need to fill roster holes. Since Mikheyev and guys like him are getting 5 million, that makes Kerfoot even more attractive. He makes less money and is better. This whole dream that the Leafs waited too long and are screwed is total bull****.

Wrong.....It is actually Dubas and Keefe who work together on the line-up.
