I wouldnt do that for Jenner, hes pretty overrated imo

Jenner is a good 3c and the team captain, Robinson is the reason Gaudreau signed in Columbus (best friends). This is a major overpay but neither team is making this trade.

How is anyone on the Jackets overrated when they get trashed constantly?

Hes pretty bad defensively and from my experience people tend to value him higher than I think hes worth

He was playing over 20 mins a night as a 1C last year and was holding a 35g/65p pace until he hurt his back. With Laine and Voracek as linemates anyone's defensive numbers would look unimpressive. He's certainly playing over his head as a 1C, but he would be a fantastic 2C for a lot of teams.

I didn't know that about Robinson. I still think this would be a hockey trade. Both a win win for each team. Maybe just Newhook and a 1st for Jenner? Retain on computer for someone lower in your prospect pool?

Its not just this season, hes been bad defensively for a long time.

I dunno what to say. I've watched nearly all of his games for the last 10 years and he has always been a rock for them. I don't feel like he would continue to be held in such a high regard by an extremely intelligent defensive coach like John Tortorella if his game was lacking defensively. The guy knows what it looks like when someone isn't pulling their weight and has zero issue with yanking them off the ice. Boone was always his go to guy when he needed someone defensive on the ice.

I like the idea of Lehkonen Jenner Rantanen

Ben Meyers at 2C is the kind of move that gets a gm fired. That trade is potentially disastrous for the Avs.

You like the thought of pairing a 40pt C With a 90pt winger? Bro you don’t put wingers like Rantanen with 40pt centers unless there has been a spate of c injuries. 90 pt wingers go with 1C’s.

I feel like it bares repeating, Jenner was on a 60+ point pace before he hurt his back. He has always had high point potential, but he has been played in an extremely defensive role by Torts the 5 years before last. I don't even know why I'm trying to talk him up here because there's zero chance I would want him traded and there's no point in making propositions for a guy who just extended 4 years and was named team captain not even a year ago.

Problem with Boone is that his relentless forechecking and gritty center play distract from the defensive woes he goes through. Decent at faceoffs as well, but when it comes to the actual defensive coverage, he can lack. People also forget/just don't know Boone was once a 30 goal scorer. There's a reason he isn't a selke candidate, all his hard work seems to come above the red line

Nichushkin isn't a 90 pt player but ended up playing with Nate quite a bit.
