That's actually a pretty fair trade, mayby swap the 1st for a 2nd or meh prospect

Habs aren't trading Anderson (reportedly generating a ton of interest around the league), Dach (Valued at 13th overall +), and Florida's unprotected 1st in a deep draft year for a player who has pretty much confirmed wants to go to MTL in 2 years anyways.

Dach sucks. He has a limited offensive ceiling and his skating is subpar, can’t keep up

Add in Guhle and Heinola..Similar prospects

Heinola is NHL ready but the Jets have Dillon and Schmidt in the way. Guhle can wait a year for the Jets

I like this trade for both teams. But only if there is a 6+ year extension for PLD.

For me it isn't what WPG needs to add. MTL just needs to send less.

I consider Dach and FLA's 1st to be important pieces to a rebuilding habs team. Anderson is arguably MTL's most valuable core forward (that is available) as well.

Trading those three assets for a player like Dubois who has made it clear his desire is to play in MTL in 2 years anyways is too much.

For me, WPG can get one of those three assets with other secondary pieces, not all three.

Anderson's contract and consistency is a concern and Dach has really underwhelming numbers, was he rushed in, yeah probably but it doesn't change the fact he hasn't exactly impressed so far, other than Florida's 2023 1st this return doesn't excite at all from a Jets perspective, not that I'm expecting an exciting return for PLD but I'd probably only want one of Dach or Anderson if either were in the deal, not both.

If the Jets got Barron would the Habs have interest in DeMelo and would DeMelo's trade protection block a deal to Montreal, suppose he could waive but it is a factor.

I think MTL's cap situation would block this deal regardless. They need Barron's ELC.

Montreal's cap situation is fluid. They have contracts they could easily move and assets to help with those that aren't as easy to move. As long as the combination of moves required is in the right direction, cap is a secondary concern.

Anderson is rumored to be highly valued, while Dubois is not currently due to multiple factors, not the least of which is his willingness to commit long term to a destination.

That said, Anderson would be the main piece if such a deal were to materialize. Perhaps that involves a 3rd party so Winnipeg gets future assets instead of Anderson, but Montreal wouldn't be including recently acquired pieces in positions of need (which includes Barron).

What do you do with him if you get Dubois?

Trade Dvorak hopefully part of the Dubois deal and put Dach as #3 center and develop him. If he becomes the beast of a player he should be, then put him #1 and trade Suzuki for a blockbuster deal. It becomes even more interesting if HABS get #1 pick next year and select Bedard. Then we trade Suzuki and Dach become #3. We have really good prospects that can play with him on the 3rd line, Mesar, Roy and or Ferrell

Any one of Dubois, Suzuki, or Dach can also play wing as well.

You want wingers that can score 30-50 goals preferably. None of them will ever do that. Some lack speed. I can see only Dubois being able to score 30+ goals as a LW. The other 2 are made to play center

Anderson won't waive for Winnipeg and it's unlikey the Jets want deadweight with a bad contract back.

Dubois is automatically out of that conversation so either Dach of Suzuki
